Do you have a favorite place to write? A place where the inspiration just comes to you and the words flow onto the page without difficulty? For me, that place is the beach.
Now, you might be picturing the sun high in the sky, people surfing and people sun tanning on the beach. I should clarify that I mean the Oregon beach which most people refer to as the Coast. It does have its sunny days and I’ve gotten a sunburn there before BUT most of the time, clouds cover the sky. The wind can be insane and it rains a lot.
It has always been a special place to me. I could sit for hours and watch the waves crash against the shore. I can’t even count all the times that I’ve written on the beach. My inspiration skyrockets when I’m there and this last time was no different.
My best friend came to town on an impromptu trip and wanted to go to the Coast. We packed up the babies and headed out. It was the PERFECT day. Clouds covered the sky, warmth swam through the air and the wind held off. While my friend chased her toddler around the sand, I put Baby J down for a nap and pulled out my phone to write.
It’s hard to find the time to write some days but the words just spilled out of me. Who thinks I need to move to the beach so I can write all day long?
